Trends

Times are definitely changing in the world of technology.   From a PC perspective we see TVs and smartphones becoming more like traditional computers, the rise of non traditional OS's, media being streamed or transferred from one device to another, the rise of cloud services, and new ways to interact with PCs such as voice and gestures.    Now more than at any time previously, it's a good time to connect all your stuff together in whatever types of networks can be supported.    People really should not have to care where something is stored, and they shouldn't have to look too hard to find their digital content.   What a change just in the last five years....it's moving at a brisk pace.

CES 2013 - NVIDIA Project Shield

Interesting gaming device that NVIDIA announced at CES.  I'd like to know more about the bass audio susbsystem.    The claim is that it has a bass reflex system - tube that takes advantage of a large space of air and the elasticity of the air.    "Like blowing air over a bottle"   Supposedly twice the signal to noise ratio and signal response of an HP laptop with Beats audio.

CES 2013 - Audi Self Piloted Car

Audio showed a car that can drop you off and go park itself.   Then with your phone app you can recall it to come pick you up when you are ready to go.   Interesting concept.  I guess it will definitely be watching out for all those pedestrians in the mall parking lot.

Wired Magazine article -------- ROBOTS!

There's a great article in Wired Magazine this month, a free copy which I picked up at CES.   It has some clever photos of robots with Jimmy Fallon.....let me read it again and consider what conclusions I may want to record here.

Let's kick it off

January 11th, 2012; I'm starting a new blog.   This is going to be a fast post so that I can actually kick this off the ground without getting writers block.......in which case the blog will never happen I fear.   It's because of that notion that I'll likely return the second, third, and fourth time (and more often in the future) if I at least have some thoughts already down and posted.
Well the big idea here is that I want to record my ponderings and conclusions about techology and our future.   I believe that if I can record these thoughts as I come up with them, or find them elsewhere, then it will help me to "connect the dots" and make even more profound conclusions about where things are headed.
I just got back from CES and have a few ideas about some of the things I saw there.   Let me think about where to take this next as a first real posting.
